The Taunt

In my last post I wrote about my goals for the final week and a half of May.

1) $5,000 profit in Hypers (Currently: ~$4200)
2) $10,000 profit in all SNGs/MTTs (Currently ~$6700)

Well, umm, about that...it's going to be a bit tougher now.  Obviously the day after I post about how I'm crushing, I hit a downer.  It's almost like clockwork.  You'd think by now I would have learned to not taunt the 'Poker Gods.' 

It's the exact approach I take with Credit Card Roulette, a game I often play with friends of mine to decide which unlucky soul gets to pay for the entire meal.  In CCR (All the cool kids uses abbreviations), I've managed to dodge the bill countless times, way more than I should have, and each time I take a second to make a public announcement, thanking the benevolent 'CCR Gods' for bestowing their good fortune upon me.  However, during my last trip to Vegas I watched my friends lose over and over to the point I actually started to feel bad for them, so I did what any noble man does -- I taunted the 'CCR Gods.'

Things I may or may not have said:

• Not a chance my card gets pulled
• I'm going to have the most expensive entree
• It feels so good knowing I never even have to sweat this

And of course, the 'CCR Gods' were unhappy and I paid for three out of the next four meals.  What's the lesson?  Don't taunt them!

Moving on from that slightly related tangent, the volume and EV continues to be solid, so there's still some chance.  At the moment, I'm $1,750 short of the first goal and $4100 short of the second.  Here's my graph from the last three days.

With only six days left in the month, I need to keep grinding and pray that the kind, generous, and all-powerful 'Poker Gods' choose to let more pots be shipped my way.
