The Water Festival

Sawatdi Pi Mai!

I returned to Chiang Mai just in time to celebrate the Thai New Year, known as Songkran.  Officially, it's a holiday celebrating renewal, cleansing oneself, and paying respect to elders.  Unofficially?  It's a country-wide water fight.  I armed myself with a 'Super Shooter' and spent most of the afternoon spraying people, primarily targeting women, children, and the elderly.  Needless to say, it was a lot of fun.

In addition to participating in the water festival, I was looking forward to something else -- poker!  More specifically, online poker.  While I had played quite a bit in casinos during my American vacation, it wasn't the same.  Maybe it was the speed of the game.  I'm used to clicking constantly in hopes of avoiding the blinking and beeping of thirty tables and after such an experience, live action is mind numbingly slow.  Especially tournament play.

But not Hypers!  Three minute blind levels, short stacks, and lots of action?  Yes please.  Here are the results from this weekend.

Only took 14 hours and I enjoyed every minute of it.  Well, except for hours 5-10.
