The Space

Happy New Year, everyone!

It's been fifteen days since my last entry, a far cry from 10,000.

I had a fantastic time in San Diego/Vegas and it made me realize how much I've missed being a 'normal' person. In the back of my mind I knew at some point I'd get a regular job/schedule but previously I dreaded such a transition and now I'll embrace it with open arms. I'm not looking to hang up the mouse in the near future, if I had to guess I'd say 3-5 year from now. I'm not even ready to think about what I'll do or where I'll live, but I'll surround myself with people I love and that's more than enough to make me happy.

Now that I'm back in Canada I suppose it's time to start playing again, although that won't be my primary focus over the next two months. During my prop bet, I put poker first and subsequently, my health suffered. It's nothing major, but I'm a little bit softer now than I was in November. Some of that is due to the last two weeks, as I consumed more burritos (9) than I ran miles (1). But even while I was in Canada, I was going to the gym less frequently than usual and cutting those sessions short in order to be sure I earned enough VPPs. So during the remaining two months of my lease, I'm going to put my physical health/vanity first and worry about eating well/exercising more instead of loading sets/grinding games.

Even with poker as a secondary priority, I still plan on playing 90-120 hours. Admittedly I might not make that much during this stretch, but I'm sure I'll be happier -- the other day I told a friend that on days where I eat poorly and lose money, I feel like a complete waste of space. But if I eat well and happen to lose money, at least I can avoid that feeling of worthlessness.
